I welcome all the students, particularly in UG I, who have taken admission in our institution, cherishing certain dreams to be fulfilled during and after their college life. I wish that the institution, with its able and skilled staff, would assist in a great way in consonance with their dreams to make them achieve their goals. Known for its discipline and the best academic environment and extra/co-curricular activities, with the maximum utilization of its resources, I am sure that the institution will fulfill the aspirations of the budding scholars in the panorama of new education policy, prepare them to embrace the world with positive mindset and make a meaningful contribution to the family and the society at large. Principal's Profile
Prof. Anoop Kumar Singh is presently serving as the Principal of P.P.N. P.G. College, Kanpur, and is a distinguished Professor of Sociology. With over 22 years of rich teaching experience, Prof. Singh has established himself as a dedicated academician and visionary administrator. He completed his M.A. and Ph.D. in Sociology from Lucknow University, and also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Development, reflecting his deep engagement with both academic and applied aspects of the discipline.
A prolific researcher, Prof. Singh has published 52 research papers in reputed national and international journals. He has successfully supervised five Ph.D. scholars, while four more are currently pursuing their doctoral research under his guidance. Additionally, he has supervised two M.Phil. dissertations, further contributing to the advancement of sociological scholarship.
Prof. Singh has actively contributed to significant research initiatives, having worked on NABARD and World Bank-supported projects at the Centre for Social Forestry and Eco-Rehabilitation (CSFER), Allahabad, under the Ministry of Environment and Forest, Government of India. His research acumen has been recognized through the prestigious Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) awarded by the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE), Forest Research Institute (FRI), Dehradun.
In terms of funded research, he has successfully completed one minor and two major research projects sponsored by the University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi. Alongside his academic and administrative pursuits, he is also the author of five books, each contributing significantly to the field of Sociology.
Prof. Anoop Kumar Singh continues to lead P.P.N. P.G. College with a commitment to academic excellence, research innovation, and the holistic development of students and faculty alike. His leadership embodies a blend of scholarship, integrity, and service to the academic community.
