Establishment of Cell

Following UGC Regulations, Pandit Prithi Nath (PG) College, Kanpur has set a cell for Other Backward Classes (OBC) in the college. The OBC Cell in the college, with the purpose to empower the OBC students, was established on 03/09/2022. The college takes a special interest in facilitating financial support to the students belonging this community from government agencies and other sources. The cell always provides support and guidance to solve the various problems related to OBC students.

Objectives

The OBC Cell has been created in the college to resolve issues related to the OBC Students. Following are the important Objectives of the OBC Cell:

• To create awareness among the OBC students regarding various scholarship programs of State & Central
• To counsel and guide OBC students about various issues and help them to manage   academic activities along with other extra-curricular activities.
• To resolve various problems related to OBC
• To look into general welfare and progression of OBC students.
• To maintain the ratio of OBC reservations in the institute according to the Constitutional Provision and UGC Guidelines at the time of admissions.
• Registering complaints in writing from teachers, employees and students and address them further for suitable actions and disposals.
• Having updated knowledge of government policies and facilities regarding welfare and benefits of OBC students.

Activities

• To circulate State Government and UGC’s decisions about different scholarship
• To communicate with the students and motivate them for better future
• To deal with representations received from Other Backward Classes (OBC) Candidates regarding their admission, scholarships and other similar matters in the College.
• To conduct meeting with OBC students time to time to update various beneficial policies and facilities.
