Established in 1973, the Commerce Faculty has a glorious history of providing high-quality education in the field of commerce.

We are dedicated to impart quality education in Commerce and related fields through innovative teaching methods, cutting-edge research, and experiential learning opportunities. Our mission is to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of principles and practices of Commerce, as well as critical thinking and problem-solving skills, to enable them to become ethical leaders and entrepreneurs who can make a positive impact on society. We are committed to foster a supportive learning community that promotes, inclusivity, in diverse fields of  academic pursuits and lifelong learning.

In 1997-1998, the faculty took a significant leap by introducing a post-graduation course in Commerce, which has been designed to equip students with advanced knowledge and skills in various fields of Commerce Studies and prepare them for the challenges of the modern business world.

The founder Head of Faculty was the renowned Dr. P.C. Chaturvedi, who also served as the principal of the institution later on. Under his guidance, the faculty gained a reputation for its academic excellence and  continued to maintain that legacy since then.

Currently, the Faculty offers 60 seats in the M.com program and 140 seats in the B.com program. The courses are designed to provide a well-rounded education and equip students with practical skills that are in high demand in today’s job market. The faculty has a fully functional PG Library that is well-stocked with standard books and journals.

Our Faculty consists of six highly dedicated members , who are exceptionally qualified and experienced in their respective fields. They are committed to provide the best possible education to our students and ensure that they have a deep understanding of the concepts and practices of Commerce.

At present the Faculty of Commerce is led by Prof. A.K. Gupta, a seasoned academician with extensive experience. Under his guidance, the faculty strives to cater the need of students with an exceptional learning experience while maintaining high standards of education. 

We have a diverse and experienced team of faculty members who bring wealth of knowledge and expertise to the classroom. Dr. Asha Tare (Associate Professor), Dr. NeenaTandon (Professor), Mr. Rajesh Kumar Trivedi (Assistant Professor), Miss Shrasty Katiyar (Assistant Professor), Dr. Ankit Gupta (Assistant Professor) and Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Tiwari (Assistant Professor) are assisting the faculty in expanding its horizons. With their experience and expertise, they bring fresh perspectives to the classroom. The faculty members are actively engaged in research and are dedicated to students with practical insights into the world of commerce. Our team practice innovative teaching methods to make the learning experience charming and meaningful.

We strive to maintain a supportive and inclusive environment where all students can thrive and achieve their academic and personal goals.

The alumni of the Faculty are holding important managerial and financial positions in prestigious organizations both in India and abroad. Many of our students have qualified as Chartered Accountants, Company Secretaries, Cost and Management Accountants; while many are working in Private and Public Banks, Civil Services, Armed forces, Police services etc.

Our faculty also has a strong track record of producing successful entrepreneurs. Many of our alumni have started their own businesses, and some have become industry leaders.

One of the key strengths of our faculty is its impressive success rate in the National Eligibility Test (NET) and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) exams. Our students have consistently excelled in these competitive exams, reflecting the high quality of education and training provided by our faculty. In addition, the department boasts an exceptional record in PhD admissions, with a significant number of students securing admissions in premium universities such as Banaras Hindu University, Delhi University, Lucknow University, Allahabad University, etc.
