Building Rural Entrepreneurship for a Self Reliant India

The Department of Economics, PPN (PG) college, in collaboration with Khadi and Village Industries Commission, Ministry of MSMEs, Government of India has organised an insightful Seminar on the topic “Building Rural Entrepreneurship for a Self Reliant India” on 30th November, 2024. It was inaugurated by the chief guest of the event Dr Nitesh Dhawan, State Director, KVIC, UP Lucknow. The keynote speaker of the seminar was Mr Piyush Mishra, COO & CFO, Startup, Incubation and Innovation Centre, SIIC, IIT, Kanpur. The other eminent speakers were Prof. Sunnet Awasthi from DAV P.G. College, Prof. Archana Tripathi from ANDMM P.G. College, Prof. Akhilesh Dixit from Armapur P.G. College, Prof. Anupama Kumari from KVM College etc.

Prof Anoop Kumar Singh, Principal PPN College gave a warm welcome to  all  the dignitaries. Prof Vandana Dwivedi from the  Department of Economics and Convener of the seminar presented a brief introduction of the topic and its relevance for the youth of India. The chief guest emphasized the role of Khadi and Village Industries Commission in building rural entrepreneurship by providing financial and technical support to rural entrepreneurs. The keynote speaker gave many examples of startups initiated by rural youths. He said that these startups may work as a catalyst for building rural entrepreneurship and for making India a self reliant country. Other speakers delivered  very insightful lectures on the seminar topic. The students had also presented their point of view related to rural entrepreneurship, self-reliant India and Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan.
