Pt. Prithi Nath (PG) College, Kanpur

Geography department was established in 1959 and has been a glorious and rich department of the college since then. The department imparts undergraduate and post graduate level education and has always been prompt and pioneering in developing the personality of the students and giving efficient guidance.
Presently, Dr Arti Vishnoi is working as head of the department along with Dr Kashif Imdad (Assistant Professor), Dr Richa Triathi (Assistant Professor), Dr Abha Shukla (Assistant Professor ), Smt. Seema Mishra (Lab Assistant) and Mr Ratiram (Lab Attendant) are employed in the department. Library facilities are available for post graduate and research scholar students studying in the department. The facility is contributing to the admission committees and the other various committees of the college. In spite of the corona pandemic, faculty members have participated in Webinar, Conferences, Workshop, Quiz, Research paper, Classes etc. in the national and international platforms through online methods. Prior to that faculty members have participated in above mentioned platform through offline way as well. The department organizes geographical excursion for M.A. previous and F.T.R. for B.A. III year and M.A. Final. Department is well equipped in teaching learning infrastructure for a sound quality of teaching and learning . Departmental library having many books. Along with that department has a well equipped laboratory having surveying instrument , weather maps and charts 3- D models, regional wall maps ets. for efficient learning . For teaching purpose department has two lecture hall for PG classes along with one research room , store room and a departmental staff room. The department is constantly cooperating for the career advancement of students through online education, doubt solving, counselling, practical knowledge etc. even in this adverse situation. Along with that many students have cleared various entrance exams BHU, JNU, Allahabaad University etc. and selected in other jobs. In this way, the department continuously engaged in the creation of the golden future of students.
