Water Conservation efforts are essential to the sustainable management of water resource of our college campus. In order to conserve water, the college has following policies:

  1. Rainwater collecting devices to be positioned strategically on roof-tops as the college has ample roof-top area.
  2. The campus will run workshops and educational programs to bring awareness of water conservation.
  3. Run off shall be decreased via permeable non-cemented grounds.
  4. The college should utilize the collected roof-top water for landscaping the green spaces.
  5. Reuse of waste water for irrigation of botanical garden, shall demonstrate values of conservation to the students.
  6. Wastage of water through leaking taps/overflow of tanks are strictly prohibited inside the campus.

Waste management is the most important cleanliness rule for any eco system. The college has laid down clear policy on solid waste management. We have 3 different types of solid waste generated inside the campus which are managed as follows:

  1. Hazardous waste as the e-waste shall be collected and send to e-waste management company for its proper and environment friendly disposal.
  2. Bio-degradable solid waste is to be converted into manure through compost-pit inside the campus.
  3. Non-bio-degradable waste is to be collected separately and sent for recycle and reuse.
  4. The college shall encourage upcycling of non-bio-degradable waste, through competitions that promote upcycled usage of solid waste.
  5. The college does not produce hazardous liquid waste. Whatever liquid waste is generated, is taken care of through the municipality sewer line system.

The Article 51-A of environment policies of the GOI states that “It shall be the duty of every citizen of India to protect and improve the natural environment including forests, lakes, rivers and wildlife and to have compassion for living creatures.”

In line with this, Pt. Prithi Nath (PG) College, Kanpur commits to managing energy consumption in a manner that minimizes adverse impacts on the environment. The institute uses a range of activities to control energy and environmental usage. Everyone knows their roles and how they contribute to the efficient implementation of the policy. NSS, NCC units, faculty, staff, and volunteers donate their time to raise awareness of environmental issues in order to conserve energy and protect the environment.

Following Initiatives are promoted under this policy:

  • To practice the 3R's that is Reduce, Reuse, and Refuse wherever it is possible. We also promote Up-cycling & recycling.
  • To reduce carbon dioxide emissions generated by vehicles, Institute promotes Cycling, usage of battery-operated vehicles, and public transportation.
  • To install solar panels for the generation of alternative energy.
  • Replace the electrical devices to energy efficient model.
  • To undertake tree plantation drive.
  • To reduce energy wastage by the practice to switch off the lights and fans while leaving the rooms.
  • To develop systematic waste management mechanism.
  • To develop rainwater harvesting unit.
  • To strengthen our employees' and students' environmental knowledge and skills to reduce their personal carbon footage.
  • To take additional measures to continuously reduce our energy consumption.
  • To ensure the availability of necessary resources to achieve the objectives.

This policy will be communicated to all the students, staff, and employees of the institute via internal communication channels and will be made available to all on the institutional website. The Environment and Energy Policy, objectives and targets will be reviewed on a regular basis. All the students and faculty members are required to abide by the policy to make the institute campus green, clean, and sustainable.

The Environment Conservation and Cleanliness Committee was established in November, 2022 is currently under the able leadership of Prof. Nidhi Srivastava with three competent members: Mrs. Alka Rani, Dr. Neeraj Verma, Dr Manu Chauhan. The Committee aims to create the awareness among students and encourage them to incorporate more Environmentally sustainable habits in their lifestyle. The committee has disseminated awareness about conservation and cleanliness in the college as well as in the surrounding area through various competition, presentation, slogans, oath, exhibitions etc. 

 The committee is consistently motivating students to put in efforts to save our environment and protect our mother nature against ever so increasing global environmental problems. The committee has also started an ECO CLUB, by volunteering joining the students of the college to take some measures to conserve and clean the environment of the college as well as the surroundings. which has the following objectives:

1      To conserve and clean the environment.

2      To minimize the use of plastic.

3      To make the college campus plastic/wrapper free.

4      To encourage students to put waste material in the dustbin.

5      To keep an eye on the misuse/waste of electricity anywhere in the college.

6      To promote students to practice environmentally friendly activities.

7      To check for waste of water and try to conserve it.

8      To evoke awareness among the students about the environment Conservation.

Gender concerns have always been a delicate topic at Pt. Prithi Nath (PG) College. The Institute has a gender policy in place to address gender-related concerns, and it complies with the Supreme Court's instructions on the subject. The institution promotes female participation in all organization-related activities among its teachers, staff, and student body. The institute's gender policy aids in the endeavour by guaranteeing a work environment that is considerate of gender for every employee. By advancing gender equality, PPN College's gender policy, in its current form, extends beyond its student body and staff to include the greater community.

The Gender Equity Policy states that:

  • Gender stereotyping will be prohibited in all processes and activities.
  • Conscious or unconscious bias and discrimination against women is not be tolerated in any activity.
  • Promoting gender equality throughout the college community and in all curricular and extracurricular activities.
  • Encouraging female students to participate in health, nutrition, self-defence, and entrepreneurial activities.
  • CCTV cameras has been installed to ensure the women’s safety and security.
  • Empowering women by equipping them with the skills and self-assurance needed to actively contribute in nation development.
  • Creating a respectful environment for the faculty and students in the college by prohibiting any form of harassment or misbehaviour.
  • There is a SC/ST cell in college that supports the need of students belonging to the marginalized communities.
  • The objective is to boost the leadership qualities and organizational skills of students and faculty by engaging them in various committees and policy making processes.

The specific leaves as per rules and regulations of the GOI is provided to the female faculties of the college.

The college policy is in line with The Right of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, which prohibits discrimination against people with physical and mental disabilities.

The institution makes sure that all of its employees and students, including those with disabilities, can participate in its administration, programs, and events. It constantly aims to lend a helpful hand to those with disabilities.

  • Ensuring that all types of people with disabilities may access and use the buildings, restrooms, labs, libraries, etc. without any barriers.
  • Guaranteeing the efficacy and inclusion of students with disabilities in extracurricular, co-curricular, and academic activities.
  • Providing assistance to the students in the learning process apart from regular class hours.

PPN (PG) college Kanpur affiliated to CSJM University adheres to all the policies of UGC and university guidelines for implementing in various realms of administrative, financial and examinations related affairs.

Key Objective of the Policy:-

  1. The essl Biometric system is used for maintaining attendance record of teaching and non-teaching staffs.
  2. The website is well managed and is accommodative for visually handicapped.
  3. The college has bulk SMS facility for students and staff.
  4. ICT enabled classroom have been provided in every faculty.
  5. CCTV cameras are installed.
  6. The college has Wi-Fi enabled campus.
  7. The college offers online admission processes for undergraduate and post graduate courses.

Website:

The collage has a website which is well managed and maintained by a team.

All official communication and notices are sent via e-mails and update on website from time to time.

Admission of students:

The college offers online admission process for undergraduate, post graduate courses and Ph.D programs in various subjects.

 The admission process is based on merit basis. The brochures with detailed information to the students related is displayed on the website which gives applicants the best experience to access it via mobile devices or through PC.

Accounts:

The accounts office uses separate modules and software. Smart salary software AMC is used for salary. Under AMC (annual maintenance contract) the vendor provides ongoing support maintenance and update for the software of salary.

Administrations:

The college has biometric system for maintaining the attendance for staff members. Finger print is being recorded for recognition during entry & exit time at the end of the month details are submitted to the Principal.

Examination:

The Examination process is regulated by the University and policy of the University is adopted in this regard.

There is open portal for college where students can operate smoothly for examination related notices, schedules and instructions. The marks and the attendance of the examinees are uploaded online instantly in the university portal.

ICT Tools:

The college is equipped with multimedia devices in the auditorium classrooms and seminars room.

E-Library:

The concept of E-Library management systems has gained prominence due to the increasing digitization of educational resources. The college has an E library which provides digital material to the students.

CCTV Cameras:

The College Have large campus and open spaces. CCTV camera help to monitor these areas ensuring the safety of students and staffs. CCTV camera are also installed in every classroom & corridors.
